WTS Board (Want To Sell) / 2015 NEW unassembled Baja 5bss
« Last post by 1980 racer on April 18, 2016, 09:01:57 PM »
I have NEW 3/4 assembled HPI Baja 5Bss Kit for sale. I bought it to race at RC acres but the cost involved to race upgrade a 5B in my opinion can be better spent on a Losi 5ive-t.  I did not know at the time of purchase.

Options included - NewVertigo vented clutch bell and 17T pinion/ DDM billet enclosed clutch carrier/RPM roof guard/ RPM front bumper/ outerwear's flywheel cover/pull start cover/filter cover/shock covers. HPI plasma 4300 receiver pack -still in plastic. Spectrum dx2 New radio/receiver with box/ Killer Bees Kill switch.

Requires shock assembly, electronic install, wheel assembly, roll-cage assembly.
Remember this is a new and not fully assembled kit with new upgrade parts and radio - unused!

This forum does not seem to be used much. You will have much better luck catching the racers on RC Acres Facebook page.

Hello all 1/5 scale racers.
After 20 years in 1/10 2wd/4wd buggy I made the switch to 1/5!

I Thought I would start this post because I could not find a post as such, where experienced 1/5 racers from RC acres could pitch in helpful info to get the new racers started.

What does a Baja 5b need to have to be race ready?

Slipper clutch? is it necessary?
what parts brake and should have spares?
outerwear's for shocks, filter, pull start, flywheel?
aftermarket clutch bell and clutch bell carrier?
What tires for that track work best?

On a last note, ...  the baja 5bss  does not seem no where near as fun as the losi 5ive-T.  The losi is my next venture so I do not want to make this baja a money pit but would like to have some fun.  I noticed those that converted the 5B to the 5T/SC , handled better - at jumping, and seemed more fun to race in 2wd truck vs buggy class.  Is the change to 2wd truck class more fun than the 5b class?

Thank you for your help. Hope to see you guys at the track this year, since I live local.

1/5 Scale RC Truck and Buggy racing at its utmost finest: check out the epic recap video by KpopRC from the 2015 Canadian Fifth Scale Nationals at Walton Raceway in Walton, Ontario.

Theres some killer carnage, and some great high speed battles captured in slow-motion in gorgeous 1080p HD, stitched together in a story that shows the camaraderie between this international motorhead community, and how a record-setting 105 entries were able to wait out the weather and work in the track for some epic racing on a July weekend in Canada.

The course was grand scale as ever, providing big air and drifting turns. We cant wait to go back!

Make plans to join us at the 3rd Canadian Fifth Scale Nationals July 15th through 17th, 2016 at Walton Raceway. This is large scale racing
